Wondered what it's like to work on a project with a team that is fully remote? Read about Amer's experience as a software developer working on Paperflow.

Paperflow uses AI-powered data capture to digitally scan and process your paper documents. 📄👀 The application can scan any image, PDF or receipt via mobile, web and mail. Their AI-engine captures all relevant information from the document and turns it into data. Enhanced with human validation and integration to ERP and accounting systems makes Paperflow a powerful way to scan documents in today's market. How cool is that?

We greatly appreciate Amer's work on the Paperflow application, and in celebration of its latest release, we've decided to ask Amer, our Software Engineer on the project, about his experience in working on Paperflow with a team that is fully remote.

What are some of the challenges you face with having a team that is fully remote?

"The luck which I have with the Paperflow team is that they are pretty well organized, so working remotely doesn't affect our performances. A good organization is one of the keys to success, if everything is in its place and everyone is doing his job, then any complications can be minimized. So, I would say having a fully remote team isn't a challenging aspect."

What makes Paperflow different from other projects you have worked on?

"I had the luck to start working on a new project from the scratch, which doesn't happen that often. So I had full freedom to choose technologies stack, deployment tools, UI kit, designs, etc. One other important thing which I prefer, is they are very flexible. They are not strict to specific development methodology, so we don't spend too much time on some unnecessary meetings which on some other projects were taking too much time, and in the end, doesn't leave much time for development."

What are new ideas or lessons that you have taken away through your experience working on this project?

"Every project gives some experience, maybe new knowledge or to become better in the skills which you already have. When you have the freedom to use tools and technologies which you want and think would fit the best, it's always a pleasure to work on such projects. A project like MyPaperflow and Human Data Review relies on a large amount of data required for high client app optimizations, so I had a chance to tune them and use all possible ways to get the best possible performances. Which in the end pushes you to go always for the best solutions and clean code."
